How to use the A Level Maths 9709 Topic Checklist
- Select the relevant stage or paper family and search for the skill you are revising.
- Distinguish practising a topic from being able to explain it confidently without notes.
- Record one specific error and a review date, then return after a gap to check retention.
A worked example
A student who recognises a solution but cannot reproduce its first step should mark the topic Needs review, not Confident. After completing three varied questions independently and explaining the method, Practised is a more informative next step than simply ticking a box.
What to check before using your result
- Cambridge 9709 reference years 2026-2027; filter Pure 1, Pure 2, Pure 3, Mechanics, Statistics 1 or Statistics 2 to match your entry route. Pure 2 is an AS-only option.
- The percentage is based on topics you mark confident. It is not a prediction of marks or an official assessment weighting.
- Always cross-check the official syllabus: this curated skill list cannot confirm that every learning outcome has been covered.

Make your next practice session count
Use this result as a starting point, not a label for your ability. Record one error, explain its cause and complete a similar question without the worked answer. Then try a different example to check that you understood the method rather than remembered a number.

Questions about this tool
Will completed topics remain saved?
Turn on Save on this device. Export a JSON backup to move your record or protect it before clearing browser data. Without that choice, progress remains in this session only.
How are revision priorities chosen?
The tool selects low-confidence, Needs review or overdue items from your recorded choices. It does not infer your performance or rank topics by official examination weighting.
Do I need an account or need to send my results?
No account is required by this tool. Its calculations run in your browser. Tools with a Save on this device option store data locally only when you choose it; your browser, device policy and storage settings can affect persistence. Export important records before clearing browser data. This describes the tool, not any separate site analytics or contact-form processing.
