Exam Paper Code Finder
Levels & boards: Years 10-13; IGCSE / GCSE / AS & A Level Cambridge; Pearson Edexcel; OxfordAQA. Reference aid; final paper codes must be checked with school/board.
Find paper families for supported Cambridge and Pearson qualifications, then decode common component-code formats. The exam paper code finder explains a route without guessing your administrative variant or examination entry.
Made for independent learners in Hong Kong and across the GCC: the UAE (including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. Choose your exam board and syllabus, wherever you study.

How to use the Exam Paper Code Finder
- Choose the qualification, assessment route and supported syllabus year.
- Review paper families, assessment descriptions and listed timings or marks.
- Compare the output with the entry statement supplied by your school or examination centre.
A worked example
Cambridge code 0580/22 contains syllabus 0580 and a Paper 2 component variant. It does not mean Year 22 or Grade 2. Pearson 4MA1/1HR describes Mathematics A paper 1, Higher tier, with an R designation. Neither format alone confirms your centre should enter you for it.
What to check before using your result
- A school may use a particular variant because of administrative arrangements; location alone is not sufficient evidence.
- Do not combine an AS-only 9709 Pure 2 route with a full A Level route without checking the official progression rules.
- The Pearson entry here covers linear 4MA1, not its separate modular counterpart.
Make your next practice session count
Use this result as a starting point, not a label for your ability. Record one error, explain its cause and complete a similar question without the worked answer. Then try a different example to check that you understood the method rather than remembered a number.
For exam-style application, choose the correct board and component in the MYT past-paper directory. For guided explanations, explore subject-specific online tutoring or request a free 30-minute demo.
Questions about this tool
Can this register me for an examination?
No. Registration, deadlines and final component choices are handled by your school or authorised examination centre.
Can I use another syllabus year?
The output is deliberately limited to the displayed checked years. Use the linked official qualification page for a different examination year.
Do I need an account or need to send my results?
No account is required by this tool. Its calculations run in your browser. Tools with a Save on this device option store data locally only when you choose it; your browser, device policy and storage settings can affect persistence. Export important records before clearing browser data. This describes the tool, not any separate site analytics or contact-form processing.
