Physics Unit Converter
Levels & boards: Years 7-13; lower secondary to A Level / IB Diploma Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA and IB Physics skills. SI conversions suitable across syllabuses.
Convert Physics quantities across 19 unit groups, including area, volume, energy, electrical units and temperature. Read the conversion method and alternate units rather than relying only on a final number.
Made for independent learners in Hong Kong and across the GCC: the UAE (including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. Choose your exam board and syllabus, wherever you study.

How to use the Physics Unit Converter
- Choose a physical quantity before selecting the starting and destination units.
- Enter the numerical value and choose how many significant digits to display.
- Check the method, especially squared/cubed units and absolute temperatures.
A worked example
72 km/h equals 72 multiplied by 1000 and divided by 3600, or 20 m/s. For area, 1 cm squared is (0.01 m) squared = 0.0001 m squared. A temperature rise of 10 degrees Celsius is 10 kelvin, not 283.15 kelvin.
What to check before using your result
- Absolute temperatures and temperature differences use different rules.
- Negative values can be meaningful for signed quantities, but an absolute temperature below 0 K is not physically valid.
- Keep unrounded values during longer calculations; the precision selector controls display only.
Make your next practice session count
Use this result as a starting point, not a label for your ability. Record one error, explain its cause and complete a similar question without the worked answer. Then try a different example to check that you understood the method rather than remembered a number.

Questions about this tool
Why are temperature changes a separate mode?
A change uses scale factors without the absolute offset. Celsius and kelvin changes are equal in size, while Fahrenheit changes use a 5/9 scale factor.
Does this convert months or currencies?
No. Month lengths and exchange rates are not fixed SI conversion factors. The tool focuses on clear physical quantities.
Do I need an account or need to send my results?
No account is required by this tool. Its calculations run in your browser. Tools with a Save on this device option store data locally only when you choose it; your browser, device policy and storage settings can affect persistence. Export important records before clearing browser data. This describes the tool, not any separate site analytics or contact-form processing.
