How to use the Past Paper Practice Tracker

  1. Record the exact paper and component, not just the subject name.
  2. Enter your marks and maximum, then add the time used and the errors worth revisiting.
  3. Filter to comparable papers before interpreting the trend, and export a backup regularly.

A worked example

A score of 30/40 is 75%, while 45/100 is 45%. Their mean percentage is 60%, but their combined raw-mark percentage is 75/140 = 53.57%. Both summaries can be calculated; neither is an official grade across unrelated papers.

What to check before using your result

  • Comparing different boards, tiers or subjects can produce a misleading trend.
  • Paper timing and independence matter: an untimed attempt with hints is not equivalent to an examination attempt.
  • Data stays in the current browser only when device saving is enabled.

Make your next practice session count

Use this result as a starting point, not a label for your ability. Record one error, explain its cause and complete a similar question without the worked answer. Then try a different example to check that you understood the method rather than remembered a number.

Questions about this tool

Why are two averages shown?

The mean gives each attempt equal weight. The combined percentage divides all raw marks by all maxima. Use a filtered, comparable group rather than treating either measure as a qualification grade.

Can I move records to another device?

Export the JSON backup, open this same tool on the other device and import it. Import replaces the existing session only after confirmation.

Do I need an account or need to send my results?

No account is required by this tool. Its calculations run in your browser. Tools with a Save on this device option store data locally only when you choose it; your browser, device policy and storage settings can affect persistence. Export important records before clearing browser data. This describes the tool, not any separate site analytics or contact-form processing.
